New York Pilates is seeking a reliable, skilled Facilities Support Technician to help maintain our design-forward studio spaces and ensure they remain polished, functional, and aligned with our elevated brand standard. This opportunity is ideal for someone who loves problem-solving, takes pride in detail-oriented craftsmanship, and thrives in dynamic hospitality-style environments.

In this role, you’ll support ongoing upkeep and small-scale improvements across multiple studio locations — addressing repairs, light maintenance, fixture installation, paint + wallpaper touch-ups, and batching project visits (NYC + Hamptons). You’ll ensure every detail of our spaces continues to look and perform at its best, embodying the signature New York Pilates aesthetic.

This is a part-time, hourly contractor role based in the New York area with ability to travel to the Hamptons Market. The Facilities Support Technician will work closely with Studio Operations & Founders. 

 

The Role

  • Facilities Upkeep & Repair: Support maintenance needs including:
    • patching, painting, wallpaper repair
    • fixture adjustments
    • light carpentry
    • general repairs that keep the studio clean, functional, and beautiful
  • Installation Support: Install speakers, curtains, mirrors, screens, décor, and fixtures with precision and safety.
  • Light Plumbing & Electrical: Perform small plumbing and electrical fixes (e.g., swapping dimmers, tightening fittings, bulb replacements) and flag when a specialist is required.
  • Project Support & Vendor Coordination: Source materials, take measurements, coordinate trades, and oversee small facilities projects as needed.
    Quality Control: Ensure all finishes and fixtures meet NYP’s design-forward aesthetic; identify maintenance needs proactively and maintain consistent brand standards.
  • Communication & Documentation: Track work completed, provide simple estimates before beginning scoped tasks, and maintain clear communication with Studio Operations via Slack/email.
  • Hamptons Coverage: Provide periodic on-site support in the Hamptons, batching tasks to maximize efficiency and cost effectiveness.
 

What We’re Looking For

  • 3–5+ years of relevant experience in facilities, maintenance, or handyperson roles (hospitality, retail, boutique fitness experience a plus).
  • Strong hands-on skills in carpentry, minor electrical, light plumbing, and general repair.
  • Skilled with installation + mounting (audio equipment, curtains, mirrors, shelving & fixtures).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong finish-work instincts.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain a polished studio environment.
  • Comfortable traveling to the Hamptons market for periodic project support.
  • Reliable communicator with strong follow-through.
  • Able to respond to requests within ~48 hours and complete most tasks within ~1 week.
