Assistant Studio Manager (East Hampton)

“New York Pilates is about community and creating a space where people feel at home, leave their day behind and get into their bodies” - Heather Andersen, Founder & Owner

We Want You!

New York Pilates is looking for an Assistant Studio Manager (ASM) to support our East Hampton studio year round. This role is all about creating consistency across both studios, building community with our students, and ensuring the highest-quality in-studio experience.

The ASM position is highly hands-on: you’ll train and support hourly staff, maintain facilities and equipment, coordinate small-scale projects, and directly engage with students and instructors daily. You’ll act as the operational lead on-site while reporting directly to and supporting the Studio Manager with payroll, revenue targets, and scheduling.

This is a full-time, salaried role that requires flexibility, strong organizational skills, and a proactive, student-first approach.

Role & Responsibilities

Studio Operations & Brand Execution

  • Lead all daily operations to maintain NYP’s high standard of service, efficiency, and design.
  • Manage scheduling front of house staff.
  • Manage opening and closing procedures, class flow, and daily staffing coverage.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance, vendor coordination, and retail presentation.
  • Uphold studio cleanliness, safety, and aesthetic to ensure a consistent brand experience.
  • Support seasonal events, retail activations, and community initiatives that drive traffic and visibility.

Sales & Revenue Growth

  • Own and track all in-studio revenue streams: memberships, packages, and retail.
  • Partner with the Studio Manager to set and exceed weekly and monthly sales goals.
  • Lead the studio team through clear communication of targets, performance tracking, and coaching.
  • Analyze sales performance and develop action plans to meet or exceed revenue objectives.
  • Drive membership conversion and retention through exceptional student interactions and personalized recommendations.
  • Cultivate local partnerships and in-studio events to build community awareness and attract new members.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, train, and mentor Front of House staff to deliver best-in-class hospitality.
  • Oversee and manage FOH team scheduling, ensuring balanced coverage across all shifts to support business needs and operational flow.
  • Lead by example, setting the tone for service, accountability, and operational excellence.
  • Provide feedback, coaching, and recognition to support individual and team growth.
  • Collaborate with instructors to ensure a seamless and supportive class environment.

Student Experience & Community

  • Create an inviting, elevated atmosphere that reflects NYP’s values and aesthetic.
  • Proactively resolve student issues and ensure every interaction reflects care and professionalism.
  • Build meaningful relationships with students, instructors, and the local community.
  • Represent NYP as a brand ambassador in East Hampton, building loyalty and engagement both in and out of the studio.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in fitness, hospitality, or premium retail.
  • Strong customer service and community-building mindset.
  • Experience in staff training and development with a hands-on leadership style.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfort with operational responsibilities including scheduling, equipment/facility coordination, and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, and familiarity with MindBody Online (preferred).

Why You’ll Love Working With NYP!

  • Competitive Pay: $64,500 annual base salary.
  • Growth Track: Develop leadership skills with opportunities to grow into a future Studio Manager role.
  • Perks: Unlimited Pilates classes, guest passes, and 50% off NYP retail.
  • Balance: PTO, medical benefits, 401k with company contribution, and tuition assistance for continuing education.
