NYC: Talent Acquisition & HR Generalist

We're looking for an exceptional Talent Acquisition & HR Generalist to own the first stage of the employee lifecycle across our New York City and Hamptons studios. You'll build strong talent pipelines, lead recruiting, coordinate onboarding, and help create a consistent, thoughtful experience for every new team member. You can expect to spend 60% of your time managing talent acquisition and full-cycle recruiting, while the other 40% will support Human Resources and people operations.

Recruiting & Hiring
- Own the recruiting process for pilates instructors, front of house, and studio management roles across New York City and the Hamptons.
- Create, post, maintain, and refresh job postings across relevant platforms.
- Promote open roles through appropriate recruiting channels, community networks, referrals, and local outreach.
- Build and maintain warm candidate pipelines of qualified leads through proactive sourcing, networking, referrals, community outreach, and consistent follow-up, with a focus on Pilates instructors, studio teams, and management roles.
- Keep candidates engaged throughout the recruiting process and maintain relationships with strong potential hires for current and future opportunities.
- Screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and support hiring managers through the selection process.
- Support offer process coordination and ensure smooth handoff from candidate to new hire.
- Coordinate onboarding with HR, payroll, Finance, benefits partners, and studio leadership to ensure new hires are properly set up and ready for their first day.
- Ensure new hires are entered accurately into HRIS, payroll, scheduling, and other required systems.
- Represent New York Pilates as a premium consumer brand throughout the candidate experience, ensuring communication is warm, professional, timely, and reflective of the company’s culture and standards.
Staffing Levels & Workforce Planning
- Partner with studio leadership and ownership to understand staffing needs, hiring priorities, and role requirements.
- Identify current and upcoming hiring gaps by studio, role, and season.
- Proactively plan for staffing needs tied to seasonality, turnover, class demand, studio growth, and Hamptons operations.
- Maintain visibility into open roles, hiring progress, and recruiting priorities.
Onboarding & New Hire Experience
- Own and coordinate the onboarding experience for new hires from offer acceptance through first day of work.
- Ensure new hires receive clear communication, accurate paperwork, and a welcoming introduction to New York Pilates.
- Coordinate onboarding steps with studio leaders, operations, payroll, HR, and other stakeholders as needed.
- Help ensure new employees are set up in the appropriate systems and connected with the right training, schedule, and point of contact.
- Support a consistent and positive first-day and first-week experience across locations.
- Track onboarding completion and ensure compliance requirements are met.
Employee Lifecycle Administration
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for employee questions and HR requests, managing the HR inbox, ensuring timely follow-through, and handling sensitive information with confidentiality and sound judgment.
- Partner with internal leaders and external HR, compliance, payroll, benefits, and 401(k) partners to ensure employee matters, policies, and processes are handled accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for ADP, partnering with payroll providers and Finance on payroll processing, employee changes, payroll questions, and accurate coding.
- Manage employee lifecycle administration, including new hire documentation, status changes, promotions, transfers, offboarding, and maintaining accurate and organized employee records and HRIS data.
- Support and improve HR processes, workflows, templates, and SOPs, while monitoring key talent and employee experience metrics including turnover, onboarding results, and time-to-hire to drive continuous improvement in recruiting, onboarding, and retention.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on key talent acquisition and employee experience metrics, including turnover rates, onboarding survey results, and time-to-hire data, using insights to drive continuous improvement in recruitment effectiveness, new hire integration, and employee retention.
- Own and coordinate performance management and review cycles, partnering with studio leaders to ensure timely reviews, clear expectations, consistent feedback, documentation, and follow-through across teams.
- Support select HR administrative events tied to the early employee lifecycle, including new hire documentation, employee status updates, role changes, transfers, and other basic people operations needs.
- Partner with HR/payroll support to ensure employee data and documentation are complete, accurate, and timely.
- Maintain organized records related to recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and employee transitions.
- Assist with ongoing process improvements, templates, workflows, and SOPs related to hiring and onboarding.
Community & Studio Partnership
- Serve as an active and visible member of the New York Pilates community.
- Build strong relationships with studio teams, managers, instructors, and operational leaders.
- Represent the brand and culture throughout the candidate and new hire experience.
- Help create a warm, professional, and consistent experience that reflects the energy and standards of the business.
- Spend time in studios to understand team dynamics, hiring needs, and the day-to-day employee experience.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $80,000–$90,000 annual salary
